If you're buying new, the Gen5detect is the better vacuum on every spec except weight. The HEPA filtration is genuinely a generation ahead at 0.1 µm capture. If you already own a V15 Detect that works well, the Gen5detect's incremental gains probably don't justify upgrading — wait one full generation. For pet hair households or anyone with respiratory sensitivity, the Gen5detect's filtration upgrade is the most compelling reason to switch.
